We have planned a trip to Panama City from October 13-15 FOR CERTIFIED DIVERS ONLY.

• Panama City is the wreck diving capitol of the United States!
• There are lots of options for in- and offshore dives around Panama City.
• It’s a perfect opportunity to earn a PADI Advanced Open Water or Specialty certification.
• The water temperature is going to be nice and warm this time of year. 
• Aside from diving, Panama City offers plenty to do while we’re there!

• Accommodations will be at the Beach Tower Resort Panama City Beach.
• We’ll be diving with a great dive shop, Panama City Dive Center, which is located very close to the hotel.
• Every Diver is encouraged to dive with Nitrox on this trip. Athens Scuba will offer Nitrox classes before the trip and the Advanced certification can be earned on the trip.
• To participate in Sunday’s offshore dives you have to be advanced certified or do your advanced open water certification on this trip.

Itinerary:

• Friday – Drive to Panama City and check into hotel, Beach Tower Resort
• Saturday – check in at dive shop and three in-shore dives
• Sunday – two off-shore dives and drive back home

For convenience reasons we are staying at the Blue Grotto Dive resort in Williston. The resort features simple cabins, with AC/heat, and private bathrooms for each room. The price includes the bunk option. Double bed and cabins with a kitchen can be booked for a small extra fee. The main reason we prefer this option is, that we are right at the dive site and save hours of driving over the weekend, compared to the next closer option that would be in Gainesville, FL.

• The Florida Springs trip is everyone’s favorite weekend getaway in the winter.
• The water is always 72 degrees and crystal clear. 
• This trip is available to Students for their open water checkout dives.
• It’s also great for divers who didn’t dive for a while and want to get back into it.
• It’s perfect for the diver that wants to keep up the skills and comfort level over the winter month.
• This is a great beginner diver trip with easy diving at springs like Devil’s Den, Rainbow River, Blue Grotto or Ginnie Springs.

Itinerary:

• Friday – Drive to Florida and check into cabins at the Blue Grotto Dive Resort
• Saturday – Dive at a spring in the AM (2 Open Water check out dives), Lunch, dive Rainbow River in the afternoon, Night Dive for certified divers at Blue Grotto

We are organizing a SCUBA SUMMER CAMP in Watkinsville from June 27th to July 1st.

Athens Scuba is proud to announce that we are organizing another Scuba Summer Camp for kids from age 10 to 15! We are excited to teach children a variety of knowledge and skills around scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming.

In this summer camp, required academics will be mixed with fun facts and educational videos. Water skills will be blended with fun activities, free diving and more, all of which will assist the future scuba divers in developing a better finning technique and airway control.

The camp will not fully certify the participant, but it will cover 2/3 of the full PADI Open Water Diver course. We will finish all knowledge and basic skill training with the children. The four check out dives required for full certification will be offered as an add-on later in the summer because the dives can’t be completed in a pool.

Requirements:

• Minimum age is 10 years
• Kids must be able to swim before the camp starts
• Certain medical conditions will require a physicians sign off

The 5 Day Summer Camp from June 12th to June 16th 2023 includes:

• Daily Supervision from 9AM to 3 PM
• Two dive professionals in the water at all times while the campers are in
• Life guard on duty whenever the campers will be in the water
• Swim development, supervised by a professional swim coach on days one and two
• Swim and snorkeling development throughout the week
• Scuba knowledge development according to PADI standards
• Scuba skill development according to PADI standards
• Each child gets their own gear set with a Mask, Fins and Snorkel
• Snacks
• Water
• “Pizza party” on Friday afternoon with parents

Parents are invited to join us Friday afternoon to check out the skills their children have learned and are encouraged to hop in and try scuba diving for free with us as well!

Total price is $795

The price DOES NOT INCLUDE check out dives or lunch.
