Description
We will still follow the 3 step model with Knowledge Development, Skill Development and Open Water Check Out Dives.
Step 1: Knowledge Development
After signing up for the course with Athens Scuba, we’ll send you an email will all necessary information and a link to the PADI website with your personal link to the eLearning materials. From here on you’ll be able to access your eLearning materials from everywhere, on your own schedule. So far this is the same procedure as the Classic (City) Package.
After completion of the knowledge development we’ll meet at the Georgia Aquatic Center or a Discover Scuba experience, so we’ll be sure that you’ll be prepared, safe and ready to go to the lake for the confined water and open water dives.
Step 2: Skill Development
Once we have done the Discover Scuba, we’ll be ready to schedule our lake weekend. We’ll meet at the gorgeous lake Jocassee early on Saturday. The confined water session will take place in a dedicated cove of the lake, that’s dedicated to scuba diving. We will have plenty of time to complete all confined water skills before heading to our lake base and grab something to eat and rest for a little bit.
Step 3: Open Water Check Out Dives
Open Water dives 1 and 2 will be completed on the afternoon charter from a comfortable custom made scuba boat, that’ll get us to the best dive spots of Lake Jocassee in only a few minutes.
Following the two afternoon dives, important paperwork has to be filled out. Once filed, the day is concluded and divers can return to back home or continue to enjoy the amenities of beautiful Lake Jocassee, overnight. Information on scuba campgrounds and bunk cabins are available upon request.
On Sunday, we’ll meet around 9:00am at the scuba shop to prepare for checkout dives 3 and 4. The charter leaves at 11:00am. The PADI Open Water course is designed so you’ll do the majority of your checkout skill presentations throughout dives 1 and 2, so on Sunday there’ll be plenty of time to have some fun time underwater and explore some of lake Jocassee’s fantastic dive sites.
