Athens Scuba has had an eventful summer so far. Time seems to fly these days and it’s about time to give an update on a lot of things that happened around here.
First of all, the last few month have been very busy and I’d like to take the time to thank all our divers, newly certified or experience, that have been diving with us. Without the unbelievable support of our dive community Athens Scuba couldn’t have been growing in the way it has since opening we started in July of 2021.
After a big trip in June and the break that was resulting from it, we started in full swing with the scuba summer camp, which was a huge success for everyone involved.
The teenagers that participated in our first ever scuba summer camp all decided they want to get certified and signed up for the check out dives at Lake Jocassee.
Talking about Lake Jocassee, we’ve had three fully booked lake weekends since the beginning of July and welcomed more than 10 new PADI Open Water Divers, 7 new Advanced Open Waster Divers and 3 rescue divers.
While going to the lake every other weekend we kept on doing confined water session for our Open Water courses, PADI Discover Scuba Dives for people who’ve never been diving before and Enriched Air Nitrox classes, all at the Georgia Aquatic center.
The Georgia Aquatic Center has now become not only Athens Scubas home to teach our pool classes but also the home to our brand new scuba retail store.
Hours and products will be updated soon.
