SCUBA diving is a fantastic hobby. Once you are certified, you’ll want to explore everything the underwater world has to offer. On the following pages we’ll give you a glimpse at what you can expect as a certified SCUBA diver.
LIFE AS A CERTIFIED DIVER
Sometimes you don’t have to go far to experience something magical. At Athens Scuba, we believe that there’s something interesting and “dive worthy” in almost every body of water. Mind you, don’t go diving where you can’t see any further than 3 feet.
Many beginning certified divers feel intimidated to go on dive trips. SCUBA divers thrive with experience, but you can only build up that experience by diving! It doesn’t matter where you gain experience as long as you keep diving at least once a year.
Athens Scuba organizes dive trips for individuals, as well as our own group trips. We offer trips to as many different, exciting dive locations as possible. Please contact us if you have questions about potential locations.
SCUBA CONTINUING EDUCATION
To avoid going long periods of time without SCUBA diving, you can join us for a local dive trip to Lake Jocassee or the Florida Springs. You can also gain experience and continue your dive education by signing up for SDI’s/PADI’s continuing education programs. Everyone has heard the saying “You never stop learning” and this is true with SCUBA diving. Regular diving keeps you prepared for any trip or other dive opportunity that comes your way! SDI and PADI have a wide variety of continuing education courses, fit for every diver and every interest.
